Speech 2 Topic Proposal

For speech #2 my topic is going to be on the the use of plastic. It used to be that people just threw their garbage on the ground and not worried about it. Until plastic made it's way to the oceans where it cannot biodegrade.  Animals, most prominently turtles, have been strangled by the plastic tossed into the polluted oceans and has become a rising issue.

My main focus is to address the problem of spilling plastic and other trash that doesn't biodegrade into the ocean that has been killing numerous animals. Then, I will state a possible solution to the issue as well as how to take action towards the issue.

This situation effects most people because pollutants come of the plastic into the water, which fish consume, then we consume. Also, many animals are dying out from being choked by plastic or ingesting the pollutants. If this issue isn't put to a halt, it will grow until the ecosystem is ruined.
